  2. A direct donation to our scholarship fund can be sent to the address listed above.

  3. A donation to our endowment fund managed by the Community Foundation of the Ozarks can be sent to the same address and will be forwarded to that endowment fund.

  4. Other types of donations to the Writers Hall of Fame® of America can be made directly through the Community Foundation of the Ozarks (Hammons Tower, 901 E. St. Louis, Springfield, MO  65806 Phone: 417-864-6199, Fax: 417-864-8344 Toll Free Number: 888-266-6815) and specified as a contribution to the Writers Hall of Fame® of America.

    • A. A gift of appreciated assets…A larger gift to charity often results from a gift of appreciated securities due to avoidance of capital gains tax (please consult your tax attorney for details).  Real property, precious metals, works of art, jewelry, or other tangible personal property can also be given to the Foundation for conversion to cash, pending Acceptance Committee approval.

    • B. A gift of life insurance… Contributing an existing policy, or purchasing a new policy, offers an excellent way of making a substantial charitable gift with a small outlay.

    • C. A gift of real estate…Through the Ozarks Charitable Real Estate Foundation (OCREF), a supporting organization of the Community Foundation of the Ozarks, your gift of real estate is easily managed.  OCREF provides you with a service-laden vehicle for making real estate donations to your local community foundation of favorite nonprofit organization, while you enjoy the benefits, as well as the rewarding satisfaction of knowing you have given something valuable to the community.

    • D. Planned Future Gift Funds…charitable remainder annuity trust or unitrust provides a donor with a lifetime income while making a charitable gift of the remainder at the end of the donor’s lifetime.  Life estates, where donors retain the right to reside on property until death, are also excellent giving vehicles.   (Please use the following wording in the will, trust agreement, or other estate planning document: “I give, devise, and bequeath to the Writers Hall of Fame® of America, [insert here the sum of money, or percentage of the estate or trust], which shall be used for such purposes as the Board of Directors may designate.”)

    • E. Charitable Gift Annuity… provides a means for donors to make charitable gifts and receive a life income, based on their age and the size of the donation.  Donors may even choose to benefit someone else during their life and designate successor beneficiaries.  Minimum for this type of gift is $5,000.
