A direct donation to our scholarship fund can be sent to the address listed above.

A donation to our endowment fund managed by the Community Foundation of the Ozarks can be sent to the same address and will be forwarded to that endowment fund.
- Other types of donations
to the Writers Hall of Fame® of America can
be made directly through the Community Foundation of the Ozarks (Hammons
Tower, 901 E. St. Louis, Springfield, MO 65806 Phone: 417-864-6199,
Fax: 417-864-8344 Toll Free Number: 888-266-6815) and specified as a
contribution to the Writers Hall of Fame® of America.
- A. A gift of appreciated assets…A larger gift
to charity often results from a gift of appreciated securities due
to avoidance of capital gains tax (please consult your tax attorney for
details). Real
property, precious metals, works of art, jewelry, or other tangible
personal property can also be given to the Foundation for conversion
to cash, pending Acceptance Committee approval.
- B. A gift of life insurance… Contributing
an existing policy, or purchasing a new policy, offers
an excellent way of making a substantial charitable gift with a small
outlay.
- C. A
gift of real estate…Through the Ozarks Charitable Real Estate
Foundation (OCREF), a supporting organization of the Community Foundation
of the Ozarks, your gift of real estate is easily managed. OCREF
provides you with a service-laden vehicle for making real estate
donations to your local community foundation of favorite nonprofit
organization, while you enjoy the benefits, as well as the rewarding
satisfaction of knowing you have given something valuable to the
community.
- D. Planned Future Gift Funds…charitable remainder annuity trust
or unitrust provides a donor with a lifetime income while making a charitable
gift of the remainder at the end of the donor’s lifetime. Life
estates, where donors retain the right to reside on property until death,
are also excellent giving vehicles. (Please use the following
wording in the will, trust agreement, or other estate planning document: “I
give, devise, and bequeath to the Writers Hall of Fame® of America,
[insert here the sum of money, or percentage of the estate or trust],
which shall be used for such purposes as the Board of Directors may
designate.”)
- E. Charitable Gift Annuity… provides a means for donors to make charitable gifts and receive a life income, based on their age and the size of the donation. Donors may even choose to benefit someone else during their life and designate successor beneficiaries. Minimum for this type of gift is $5,000.
